
An experienced photojournalist, he spent 31 years working for The Northern Echo, a leading North East morning newspaper, following earlier freelance work in news photography and time with the BBC as a mute cameraman.
Alongside his photography career, he has been a long-standing broadcaster and producer of country music radio shows, featuring on various North East radio stations. His work has also included presenting lunchtime easy listening programmes and 1960s music shows, showcasing his wide musical knowledge and versatility.
He is a popular guest speaker, presenting his talk “Not THE Brian Clough”, which combines memories, photography, and behind-the-scenes stories from over 35 years as a press photographer covering the North East for regional newspapers and weeklies.
His media experience extends into film production, working as a film cameraman creating short films for corporate clients, councils, and organisations.
He is also the producer and presenter of The Works Audio Show, serving the community of Consett, Co. Durham, and contributes as a writer and columnist via www.theworksconsett.co.uk. In addition, he is a country music columnist for The Northern Echo, continuing his long association with the publication.
Internationally, he produces and presents “The American Connection” Country Music Show, which is broadcast on over 20 radio stations worldwide. In recognition of his contribution to country music broadcasting, he was awarded CMA International Broadcaster of the Year in 2009.
